Postpartum clinical tools developed by PHFE WIC as part of the WOW program.
In 2009, Children’s Medical Services (CMS) developed a Counseling Module for Child Health and Disability Prevention Program (CHDP) providers: On the Training Materials, Tip Sheet they recommend using “unhealthy weight” when discussing children’s overweight and obese status with their parent.
The Interconception Care Project for California, led by the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, District IX and funded by March of Dimes, California Chapter, created the following recommendations to improve and promote the interconception health of women by maximizing care provided during the postpartum visit – an ideal, and often the only, visit to address a woman’s health before another pregnancy.

Physicians often fail to counsel their young adult patients about excessive alcohol use, according to a study led by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), part of the National Institutes of Health.
The modules are short, engaging and filled with practical information. The modules can be used for CME credit by physicians, nurse midwives, nurse practitioners and physicians' assistants. In some states, CME credit may be useful for the continuing education requirements of other professional groups, as well.

Preconception Counseling Guide for initiating an informed conversation with patients about pregnancy and HIV.
The Preconception Health Council of California Clinical Work Group adapted the Colorado Guidelines for Clinical Care to provide a clinical content guideline for California healthcare providers to suggest important assessment and counseling for women of reproductive age.
