Preconception Guidelines
The Preconception Health Council of California Clinical Work Group adapted the Colorado Guidelines for Clinical Care to provide a clinical content guideline for California healthcare providers to suggest important assessment and counseling for women of reproductive age. The guidelines use an "Ask, Advise, Refer" format to provide practical screening and counseling prompts for well-women visits. We hope this guidance will be useful to clinicians in providing appropriate preconception health care to clients of all ages and health statuses.
The guidelines can be downloaded from this page and printed for your use. The guidelines brochure is designed for optimal printing on specialty paper with the following dimensions: 17.50 in x 7 in. A limited quantity of printed brochures may be available by request in the future. The guidelines bedside reference contains all of the clinical information in an easy-to-read format for routine reference in clinical settings. It is designed for two-sided printing on standard 8.5 in x 11 in paper. Lamination suggested.
